Sunday rides 1st Sunday each month
Arrive at 9am SHARP at the Clubhouse (Fairfield Showground) if you are going for the Sunday Monthly Rides. 

Late comers may miss out on the ride.

if you have not ridden for years and are unsure of yourself please contact the Club to discuss training/practice before showing up for the ride

Our monthly community rides are FREE easy to medium, slow paced rides, starting and finishing at the WSCN Bike Shed located at Fairfield Showground where there is plenty of parking and excellent bicycle accessibilty using the Orphan School Creek Cycleway. Most rides are in the 20 to 30km range with an expected return time between 2 and 3 1/2 hours including some with coffee stops (bring a little bit of money). The ride leader reserves the right to make changes as required for the safety of all participants.

SUNDAY 7th October 2012 - Pemulwuy (26km)

SUNDAY 4th November 2012 - Liverpool (     km)

SUNDAY 2nd December 2012 - Cecil Hills (16km)


People who have ridden with us on our community rides, will notice this year we have four new rides

March - CARNES HILL uses the recently completed Shared Use Path along Cowpasture Road to Carnes Hill, then returns through farmland and The Parklands Track

April - NEWLEAF BONNYRIGG uses new paths through Newleaf and part of the new section along Elizabeth Drive

August - HORSLEY PARK goes through the revamped part of Western Sydney Parklands called Lizard Log (Ex Pimelea) to Horsley Park

November - LIVERPOOL explores more of the new shared use path along Elizabeth Drive and the extension of the Rail Trail heading South from Liverpool (if it's ready by November)

RIDE LEADERS

Volunteer ride leaders are experienced cyclists and familiar with the route for each ride. Please follow their instructions to help ensure that each rides is safe and enjoyable. You will be asked your name and a contact phone number at the beginning of each ride.

 

WHAT TO BRING

Bike - Geared bike in working order. Contact us before the ride for advice on how to get your bike checked. Drinking water and sunscreen. Snacks or money (if ride includes a rest stop) Unaccompanied children must be over 16 years of age. Small children in carry seats or trailers welcome.

 

Thursday Weekly Rides
Come along to the Western Sydney Cycling Network to explore local cycleways on a 10km route at an easy pace.
Ideal for all ages who want to become more active in a friendly and safe environment. Maybe you have been advised by your doctor, encouraged by a friend or just have the desire to get more active. Whatever your reasoning come along. 

Riders meet every 09:45am Thursday at the WSCN Clubhouse in the Fairfield Showground (entrance off Moonlight Rd) Bring your own bike and helmet or hire from the club. Ride is free Make sure you contact the club first.
